What would I change about my project if I could start over? I actually think I did a good job at matching my goal with my skill level, so everything has pretty much gone the way I wanted it to.
Will you meet your initial goal? Why or why not? I will meet my goal of having an animatic with audio ready. It’s not too demanding for the time limit we were given since there won’t be in between animation.
What is your honest opinion of this project? On paper, the idea of pursuing a passion project in class for 20% of your time is a great idea for a grade. However, I have many problems with the execution of it, most of it probably only relating to me. It’s really hard for me to do an art related project when it’s for a grade and I’m given a three month time limit to make it. Because of the time limit, I’m not able to fine tune the idea and writing of the cartoon, making it seem like a somewhat rushed product. This is the reason why I’m cutting a lot of corners with the art by reusing assets (Similar to Aqua Teen Hunger Force and 12 oz. Mouse). I sometimes get burned out from drawing and get art block. I just don’t like the idea of forcing a class to pursue a “passion” project under a harsh time limit that would normally take much much longer and would make you have to produce something that wasn’t up to your normal standards.
